Getting a new dog is exciting. Especially when you get a French Bulldog. You might have a lot of questions. We are here to answer them. Let's go through some frequently asked questions regarding French  Bulldogs. The first question people usually ask is, "Are French Bulldogs healthy?" French Bulldogs are a brachycephalic breed, meaning they need extra precautions due to their flat-faced nature. Many French Bulldogs snuffle and snort. In hot weather, Frenchies should be kept in an air-conditioned home and supervised during outside activity so they don't suffer heatstroke.

"What is the temperament of a French Bulldog?" French Bulldogs are bred to be companion dogs. Their temperament is kind, adaptable, and smart. French Bulldogs are easygoing. They love to be with their people and want to please us. They are sociable dogs and relatively low energy.

"What is the life expectancy of a French Bulldog?"

The life expectancy of a French Bulldog is 10-14 years!

"What should I feed my French Bulldog?" Starting your new French Bulldog on a good diet is important for their health. Some pet owners feed their dogs raw foods rich in animal protein and fat. As a general rule of thumb, I feed my dogs any grain-free dog food. I prefer Pure Balance Salmon Grain-Free food because my dogs like the taste. Grain-free dog food can eliminate gas, indigestion, skin rash, and allergies.  Any grain-free food should be fine.

"Why are French Bulldogs expensive?"

French Bulldogs are relatively expensive compared to other dogs because of their breed (pure bred) and because of the amount of work that is required to produce true happy, healthy dogs. With Frenchies, the breeding costs is extremely high. For Frenchies to reproduce, they require artificial insemination & c-section. It requires a lot of time, effort, and money to breed happy and healthy Frenchies– there’s no other way to put it: breeding French Bulldogs is a full-time job.

Beware of scams.
